As part of my research into the culture of Yemen, I decided to look into their clothing when I found all these pictures of women in weird straw pointed hats on Twitter. Some of them were captioned with “witches of Hadhramaut”.

Hadhramaut is in southern Yemen and these witches aren’t really witches. With their black clothing and tall pointy hats, they resemble witches, but they’re actually farmers. Just local women wearing straw hats.
