From Thomson Reuters Zawya in a pro-Hadi/Saudi article:
Plans for a free-trade zone have been stalled since 2011, but Yemenis are apparently eagerly waiting for trade to start even with a war going on and all. The zone is planned to be set-up along the Saudi Arabia/Yemen border. Yemen will need a lot of materials for reconstruction once the war is over, of course, to reconstruct the cities that the Saudi-led coalition bombed.
According to the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the free trade zone between the two countries will provide a gateway for Saudi products to African countries. <– Doesn’t sound like Saudi Arabia wants to use Yemen for money or anything like that. Nope. Not. At. All.
