From US News & World Report:

The US president will be making his first international trip with a stop in Saudi Arabia, currently in a war with Yemen. Yemen’s official internationally recognized government currently resides in Riyadh after fleeing a country where thousands of people are currently suffering from a cholera outbreak, soldiers are fighting endless battles, and the president might be losing authority in the south.

The mostly Gulf Arab coalition, led by Saudi Arabia and backed by U.S. arms and intelligence, has waged a nearly two-year-old campaign on behalf of Yemen’s internationally recognized government, which the Houthi movement – allied with Saudi’s arch-foe Iran – is battling to dislodge.

Trump has signaled a tough new line on Tehran by choosing Riyadh for his first visit abroad.

The US is reversing Obama policies and will be increasing intelligence support for Saudi Arabia.
